چکیده

The spread of drug-resistant pathogens worldwide has spurred experts' interest in drug discovery. Medicinal plants are an essential source antimicrobial agents to cure various human ailments. Even though several have been examined for compounds, the search better and safer drugs combat microbial resistance continues. leaves oils Melaleuca cajuputi subject many investigations on plant's bioactivity. flowers from medicinally useful, there few studies antibacterial properties M. flower extracts. This study aimed determine activity extracts against some pathogenic bacteria phytochemical screening most potent extract.

aqueous ethanolic were obtained by cold maceration, then reconstituted 10% DMSO. was carried out using broth microdilution assay minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC). Phytochemical extract performed UV-Visible spectrophotometry (UV-VIS) Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.
percentage yields ethanol 11.02% 8.8%, respectively. Both found Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae (MBC/MIC ratio less than 4). Ethanol demonstrated lowest MIC MBC values (Table 1) all tested bacterial species except E. coli with >4 mg/mL. spectrum showed peaks at 368, 412, 535, 606, 665 nm respective absorbances 2.510, 2.902, 0.429, 0.324, 1.095 Au, which indicated presence flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic compounds [1]. FTIR spectra detected alcohols, hydrocarbons, conjugated aldehyde, phenol, sulfoxide, nitro, halo In conclusion, properties, their potential biological activities should be further investigated future studies.
